In mainstream Italian media, bicycles as a mean of day to day transportation are almost nonexistent. Yet, on the streets, so many different people are resorting to cycling.
From inside a car, one might be tempted to label them as people who are just not busy and productive enough to need speeding around the city on a motor vehicle.
And yet, each of them is so far away from the classical stereotype of the leisure cyclist.
This series is an exploration of a small but growing minority: those who found out that life on a bicycle can flow at a very human and enjoyable pace, despite the obvious drawbacks of having to navigate heavy car traffic, lacking infrastructure and the hostility of some motorists.

"Easy time" are words from a sticker I noticed on a bike I was photographing.
I found some irony in them: while I do believe that riding a bike can be an easy time, I'm also very aware of the real world conditions which give quite a hard time to Italian urban cyclists.
